A PARTING WHISPER for ISSUE 01: "FREEDOM of FANTASY"
By Gillian Anderson

When we cracked open G Ode, it was with a single stubborn conviction: that creativity and story can untangle the knots inside us. We built this place as a living, breathing notebook where curious minds could meet, reflect, scribble in the margins, and remember that what we fantasise is never frivolous — it’s fuel.
With the conclusion of Issue 01: "Freedom of Fantasy", which was inspired by the anonymous fantasies gathered in WANT, we hope it has been an invitation to unearth the private sparks of your desires. Thank you for being on this journey with us - from conversations with architect of intimacy Ita O'Brien, to the six-week self-inquiry of The Untangler Programme, and quick-fire wisdom from Afua Hirsch and Gabriela Hearst to story-forging conversations with the director of Babygirl Halina Reijn - each page has been a reminder that sexual imagination is not a side-note to a life, it is a tuning-fork for courage. When we allow ourselves to want, we practice wanting everything more truthfully — justice, adventure, tenderness, that improbable career pivot, the right to be gloriously complicated and deliciously provocative.
Before we set our sights on the next theme and issue, I want to linger together on one essential question:
How did Freedom of Fantasy move you?
In a single sentence, a few words, or more, tell me if this issue nudged you to think, feel, or act differently about going after what you want. Maybe you finally drafted that outrageous proposal, or simply noticed your shoulders drop when you spoke your needs out loud. Whatever shift you sensed - minute or monumental - please slip it into the Reflection Pad. Your words arrive anonymously, are read with care, and steer what we build next.
While you’re there, dream out loud for Issue 02. Topics, formats, provocations, experiments — nothing is too strange if it might spark someone else’s epiphany.
Thank you for entrusting us with fragments of your inner life.
See you on the next blank page.
Gx
